Hello all.

I have been using my PS3 PlayTV USB Tuner in Windows Media Center without any problem. I've tried installing Mediaportal and selecting it as a tuner, but it doesn't appear.

Am i doing something wrong or Is it not supported?

Thanks

Matt

    Hi and welcome Matt :)

I don't have a PlayTV or PS3, but a few minutes of Googling suggests that you have to do a few things to allow the PlayTV to be used like any other tuner. Have a look -->here<-- - if you install those drivers then I think the tuners should appear in TV Server configuration (after a restart).

    Thanks for your reply mm.

I have got this working now, it seems that if you test the playtv tuner in WMC then it won't show up in MediaPortal until you restart the PC. I am using the Windows drivers for EyeTV Diversity found here:

Early days, but I can report that it all seems to work fine. More testing and setup yet to do!

    Thanks Matt.

    Hi again Matt

    Thanks for following up! :D
TV Server only detects tuners on start up (which usually happens on Windows startup) so that could have had something to do with it too. If you plug in the PlayTV after TV Server has started then you can always use the "manual control" section of TV Server configuration to stop and then start the TV service - this will trigger TV Server to detect tuners again.
