Hi
I am brand new to this interesting project, and have a couple of questions, which might be stupid
When I open MP, my computer slows down very much... the window takes time to open, and the cpu load is 85-95%. I only use the player for music. When I minimize it, still playing music, the cpu load drops to 2-5 %. I have a 1.73 dothan cpu, and 512mb ram
Why is this?

Another problem: I enabled tag information. In the beginning I could see all albums and song names. Now, on some albums, the songs shows as unknown, and some songs are put in album folders where they don't belong.
Why is this?

    Hi,

    First: Please fill out the support template! :)

    1) What graphics card do you have?

    2) I do not know exactly what you mean...

    Support template? Sorry, but I dont understand, my english is poor...
    My graphics card is the integrated 915 chipset from intel.

    My second question is: MP does not display the song names of some of my songs. It shows the album art, but does not show either the song names or their length. I would like it to do so

    Just fill it in and post the results. :)

    Note there is a tool. Just download and run. You have seven (I believe) steps and then you need to upload the data it has collected - it is an easier method than to manually search and create the data needed for someone to help with troubleshooting your problem.

    Synopsis::

    1. When the main window is open, the cpu uses 85-95 % of the system ressources, the computer hangs. When I minimize the program, while still playing music, it uses only 2 % cpu power.
    2. The music files' tag information is not always found. In some albums, the songs are listed as unknown, the title, track number and length of the songs can not be listed. The album cover art is shown

    Like that?

    Hi,

    yeah that looks better! Thanks. :)

    I fear that your notebook is somewhat underpowered. MP renders its GUI like a 3D game. Therefore a DX9 capable card or a reasonable fast CPU is required.

    You may try turning off visuals for music playback. Because those currently are not optimized for MP.
    Configure->Music->Internal Music Player->Direct Show

    That helped, it is still slow in opening the window, and maximizing it, but now only uses 10- 20 % cpu.
    Is my computer really underpowered? The graphics should be directx 9.0 compatible, and the 1.73 pentium M should perform as a regular 2.6-2.8 Pentium4 CPU...

    i run mp on a pentium m 1.7 with no problems... however i'm using a ati mobility 9700 card, which might be the difference. it looks to me like your card is using shared memory (which is why it's only reporting 503mb of memory in your system), so you could try going into the bios at bootup and seeing if there's an option in there to increase the memory allocated to the graphics card.
