Using external player for one type of file only (1 Viewer)

I have added an HD-DVD drive to my HTPC and I need to use an external player for these discs.
I am more then happy with the internal player for all other files and don't really want to change.
Is there any way to config MP so that only these discs/files will play on the external player?
