    Error Description:
    1). Start MediaPortal
    2). Select Videos
3). Select an Image of an SVCD or VCD file.
4). MediaPortal mounts the image correctly using Daemon tools.
5). MediaPortal does not start playing the mounted disks as it should.
6). Manually navigating to the video data file and selecting does play the video, but without any menus.
7). By selecting a DVD image file, the image does mount and play correctly.

    Note:
If CD's of type SVCD or VCD are loaded,
MediaPortal prompts with - [AutoPlay] "Video disk loaded - do you want to open it?" Y/N.
Selecting Yes opens the file structure of the disk in video shares. Again, no menus available.

    Cheers

    Mr Hipp,

The same error occurs with today's SVN.
The file structure is visible but the menus on both an image or actual disk do not play.

    Thanks

    Matt

    Hi Matt
    Does normal DVD menues work?
If they do then I think it's a problem with your decoders. Can you play the VCD in any other application?

    Mr Hipp,

DVD menus do work for both an actual disk and an image mounted with Daemon tools.
The VCD's and SVCD's all play correctly (disk and mounted image) via PowerDVD 6.

    Regards
    Matt

    Mr Hipp,

Are you suggesting it's a decoder issue?
If so can you make any suggestions as to what I might use?

    Thanks
    Matt

My guess is that the right decoder are not used in the direct show graph. But I cant' verify that since I don't have
    any VCD's or SVCD's.

AFAIK MP doesn't support the automatic playback of VCD and SVCDs, because it only looks for the directory structure of DVDs. There was a patch on sourceforge long time ago for this problem, but it was never committed to SVN.

MP also doesn't support menu, because it has no navigator filter for this. The DVD Navigator filter doesn't work for VCD and SVCDs. Other players therefor have a special filter for this.

Thanks misterd. Now we know why it does not work.
As MP only supports DVD navigator. I would not say this is a bug. More of a missing feature.

    Misterd and Mr Hipp,

Thanks for your interest and response.
It's unfortunate as this is a big WAF. Old home movies, etc...
