    Logs and jpgs below.

After any powersave event S1 S3 the Video FPS using MS or MPC codecs has a dramatic drop from either 50FPS (interlaced flag'd ) or 25FPS (non flagged) to 30 FPS and 20 FPS respectively and severe stuttering because of this.

Restarting MP will cure the above but now when the TURN OFF MONITOR WHEN BLANKING SCREEN is used the same problem occurs. restartin MP is now the only cure.

MP also crashes when trying ATI MPEG CODEC;noticed when I was testing all installed codecs on VISTA32 having used the MS codecs for many years without problems.

Also when not in focus and not displaying video the MP UI now drops frames from what is set ie 50 or 75 FPS to almost nothing.

Is this all linked? is MP failing with hardware acceleration at a basic level and are the MPEG2 codecs now failing with hardware acceleration and GPU acceleration when available ?

    This doesn't occur with 1.1.3 or 1.2beta.

    Thoughts please.

Which driver are you using, there are video playback problems with ATI after 11.4 version.

Cannot reproduce on my nvidia system.

Both 11.1 and 11.8 on HD4650 showed the same problems. 11.8 used with all logs posted so far.

To fully check out the problem I completly uninstalled RC1 deleting all databases and installed a fresh 1.1.3 and then tested using the same scenarios.

After multiple powersave events I could not cause any of the FPS problems that are exhibited with 1.2 RC1 with either of my main codecs Vista 32 MS and MPC with either 11.1 or 11.8 cats. Logs below if they can help.

The only conclusion I can draw is that the problem exists within the 1.2 code.

At this stage of MP dev i would normaly move to full 24/7 testing on my main system, i simply can't which is a shame.

Can you install a clean 1.2 beta and see if you get the issues? If not can you re-install 1.2 RC and see if the issue exists.

I have no sure issues but I am using an Nvidia card.

    Thanks will test later.

I did have an idea that an update from 1.1.3 to 1.2beta didn't show the problem but a clean instal of 1.2beta did show the problem.

I am at a good point in the process to test this.

    Hi SciDoctor

Could you try the 11.4 driver, we know this one works correctly with hdmi resume and video playback using dxva as reported by users.

    Thanks

Unfortunately the 11.2 - 11.7 CATS don't work on my specific card, a known bug.

I will dig out an old HD2400 and try 11.4.

Fresh instals of both 1.2b and RC1 with either CATS 11.1 or 11.8 and the problem exists.HD4650.

1.1.3 is fine with either CATS 11.1 or 11.8 and HD4650.

11.4 Cats also had the same problem as above with an HD2400 in XPsp3 and Vista32 and MPRC1.

I widened the testing. Using VMR9 exclusive and non exclusive aswell as EVR (EVR had seperate issues in XP as expected)

I had no problems with MP 1.1.3 and the following cards:

    Under XPsp3; ATI 8500 cats 6.12, X800 and X1950 cats 10.2, HD2400 cats 11.1,11.4,11.8 , HD4650 cats 11.1, 11.8.

    Under Vista32; X800 and X1950 cats 10.2, HD2400 cats 11.1,11.4,11.8 , HD4650 cats 11.1, 11.8.

The problem existed with all the above cards and drivers MP RC1.

If there is a specific run of tests that a dev would like me to do to help solve this problem.

What was noted though is that the RC1 problem didn't affect desktop windowed mode or max'd window desktop when alt-enter used even if the problem existed in fullscreen.

If anyone posts back that they have no problems can they please post logs of the test run so I can check against my own to see if this shows a difference.
