VGA to S-Video/SCART conversion (1 Viewer)

Hi All!

I've gotten my hands on a very small HP/Compaq PC. It is almost completely silent, so I'm planning to make it my new HTPC.

Problem is that there is no room for expansion boards in the cabinet, so no graphics card with TV-OUT.

I'm therefore considering a box called "Lindy VGA converter", which can convert VGA into s-video or SCART.

My TV is a 32" Philips CRT.
Anybody has any experiences with a box like this? Maybe a box somewhat cheaper? (799 dkr is about 110 euros).

Why buy an expensive box to do a job like this?

VGA to Scart Cable is what you need:

You may also need a DVI to VGA adapter or VGA to DVI adapter but they cost about £2 sorry don't do euro's

Only attempt this if you are willing to take the risk of destroying the video input circuitry on your TV and/or the video output circuitry on your Radeon!

I belive to have read that this only works with Radeon. Nice to know if you have a nVidia-card.

I had the same problem with my old setup, which was a small laptop with only VGA output. I bought the GrandTec Handview III box and it works ok.

I am not using the boks anymore as I am build a proper system now. If you are interessted I can sell it to you (only used it for a week, and I have the original boks and all cables and manual).
