    Hi

I'm thinking about building a server for TVe3, and would be using the following hardware:

    Via M10000 motherboard
    512 MB Ram
    Nova-t-500

I'm wondering if the M10000 is powerfull enough to use with the Nova-t-500?

If not, can anybody recommend another DVB-T PCI tv-card I could use in this setup?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards Skare

Be aware that with a VIA board you have to use MySQL with the TVServer, you can not use MSSQL, not as if this is a problem, just to let you know in advance...

Also you should use enough RAM when you are using this board...

    Hi THDBASED

I'm aware of the problems with MSSQL and VIA but thanks anyway :)

You might be right about needing more RAM. Already got the 512 MB so just have to test it and then maybe upgrade later if necessay.

Right now I'm just trying to find the right DVB-T TV-card to use.

    Thanks for the input

Would be interesting to know if it works for you once you've completed your system. Please let us know.

The Nova T500 is good, as long as no Standby\Hibernate is ever involved.

Had mine running 24\7 for a 2 week period without any hiccups.

    Hi PD

Sounds good since I'm not going to be using Standby/Hibernate.

You've got me wondering though, what problems I would encounter using Standby/Hibernate? Please enlighten me :)

the USB tuners don't re-initialise quick enough for MP when coming back on from standy/hibernate.

this means that you would need to close MP and then re-open it again for the tuner cards to kick in again.
