I have a failing standalone DVD recorder that I use for copying movies from my sky+ box to DVD. As this is on its way out, would it be possible to record audio/video through mediaportal for later dvd authoring. I have been looking at a few usb capture devices, as I have no more card slots spare. I know I can do this directly in windows, but it would be nice to do it with the remote using MP. Anyone have any thoughts on this. I currently just have a dual DVB card installed with just an RF input.

With TVEngine3 software capture cards can be used. All the USB devices i know of are software as opposed to the hardware MPEG-2 cards like the Haupauge PVR series.

    video capture - composite S-VHS

    Hi,

I have a the same problem

I would like to record with a video capture card. My source is an analog sat receiver -> output of the receiver is a Scart plug (Péritel). It is S_VHS or composite signal.

I have a Yuan PG 300 DVB-T. This card has a software video (not TV) capture.

MP used to do, but the function is not working anymore. :(
When I go in the TV config menu, MP shows me only the Yuan DVB-T PG 300 tuner, and not the Yuan PG300 video capture.
