I have a problem which I have seen before in some topics but I didn't see a solution that works. I have gigantic stuttering when watching tv. When watching the logs I see many Video Continuity errors
Some stuttering wouldn't be so bad. But the crashing (or in fact hanging) of Mediaportal is. And that is what happens when the stuttering gets worse. And that happens nearly every day. It's not nice to miss a goal from a soccermatch due to the crashing of your pc.
Some facts I have found out and tested:
- It occurs only when watching DVB-T channels, not when using the analog card
- On some channels the stuttering is much worse then on others. In fact: some channels don't have problems at all.
- As far as I know the reception quality is good. The TV-card works good in DVB-viewer
- Combining or not combining tv-channels doesn't make a difference.
- When too much stuttering appears the video stops but the audio carries on.
- In most of the times the stuttering gets worse the computer crashes completely. I have to restart the pc by resetting it
Things I have tried:
- I have disabled AMD Cool n Quiet
- I have tried different MPEG2-decoders for tv viewing: ffdshow, Powerdvd 7, MPV decoder, Nero-decoder
- I have disabled the Power scheduler plugin.
- I have read a couple of hundred topics
The logs are from a session when I watched a couple of minutes of Comedy Central, a channel that has much stuttering. In this session MP did not crash or hang. Which is good because when the computer crashes I have no log to send.
I would be very happy if somebody could help me because I am kind of sad right now. After all the problems I had with the EPG in Windows MCE I did not expect this kind of problem in MP.
