I am trying out Media Portal and I am seeing severe stuttering of video on live TV. I am using the nVideo PureVideo decoder with HW acceleration turned on. I have also set media portal priority to High. The stuttering is when I go full screen with live tv. However, with the live TV in the small screen and the menus showing there is no stuttering of the live TV. Any ideas on what would affect this? I tried other decoders and they all have the same problems(even worse with some of the decoders)

Note that I also have GBPVR setup on this system and the live TV is smooth as silk(even 720p HD content). So clearly I can make this work with the hardware that I have.

I am trying media portal out because I am crashing in gbpvr on some HD channels. I have an HVR-1600, anyone know how I can setup qam tuning in media portal?

I tried media portal earlier in the year and I switched away from it for the reason of the video stuttering, gbpvr simply performed better. I wanted to give media portal another shot to see if there was any difference in performance now.

can you post some hardware specs?
MP uses DX9 pretty heavily so if you have a basic PC (only DX8 gfx card) then you will probably get stuttering while GBPvr didn't.

Also, try the built in MPV codec as well. It's a very basic decoder, so may not give as good results but is good for testing. If you are using TV engine v2 (the standard built in one) then you could also try turning off timeshifting and see if that helps the situation.

    .

Running a 2.4GHz Pentium processor, 1G RAM and 7600GS video card(AGP). The video card is plenty and is a DX9 card so that shouldn't be a problem. Like I said, everything is smooth as silk in GBPVR(even 720p HD) but even analog is a problem in Media Portal.

I can even play recorded 1080p content with this rig in GBPVR.

I know my hardware is a bit on the low side for HD content but should have no problems with analog content.
