Error Description:
Cannot switch back to Windows desktop from MediaPortal after watching TV. MediaPortal doesn't crash but loses focus and Windows desktop keeps hidden in the background.

Error Trace:
1. Enter TV and start watching.
2. Stop TV and go back to home screen
3. Try to close Mediaportal (using (x) button at the top left)
4. Mediaportal loses focus but the Windows desktop does not appear and you can't do anything (not even start the Taskmanager). The only way to recover is to press the "Media" button on the remote so that Mediaportal regains focus again.

Manual Workaround:
This problem (i.e. to switch to Windows after watching TV) can be resolved after switching into the Movie section and then starting a movie. After stopping the movie, I can finally switch to the desktop without any problems.

Possible Cause:
I guess it's a problem with the video memory since I have a similar problem when I try to start my Milkdrop visualization plugin (which tries to open a window in the background). Then, I got an error telling that there is not enough video memory available to start the plugin.

having the same problem.

I had winamp and milkdrop installed for some time, always worked fine. I copied the .dll and all the files per instructions into the directory, didn't work.

Overwrote the .dll with Milkdrop 1.05 beta6.1. The visualization works just fine in the config window with the small screen Preview, but when I play music in MediaPortal, it loses focus and drops me to the desktop. When I click back to mediaportal, it shows a glitchy version of the Viz in teh small viz preview window within mediaportal, but when I click that preview to go fullscreen, I get the out of memory error.

This happens on a fresh boot, or after playing some video with the TV Series plugin.

NOTE: I got it to work once, and only once, but I can't replicate the conditions, unfortunately.

MP isn't releasing VRM9 exclusive after file playback or timishifting tv is stopped.(.mpeg or dvr-ms or ts files)

A messy workaround when this happens is to play an .avi file (not .mpeg or dvr-ms or ts files) and then stop it which the correctly releases the VRM9 exclusive.
