Video not working on Client PC (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to get MP working on my gaming PC, mainly as a client to connect to my HTPC for viewing TV (on my CRT HDTV connected to the PC via DVI).

It seems to be mostly working, the EPG populates and I can select a channel, but then I just see this:



I thought it might be the codec, so I tried changing it to FFDshow but that didn't help. Further testing revealed the same problem trying to play videos (AVI or TS files) or DVD, all of which play fine on either of my displays (CRT TV via DVI or CRT monitor via analog) with Media Player Classic Home Cinema. No doubt I'm overlooking something obvious but I can't see it so I'd appreciate any assistance.

Everything seems to be working now. I don't know what fixed it but I've been trying out different video drivers for my IGP so perhaps there was a problem with the one I had installed previously (Cat 9.8).
