Video over SMB suddenly choppy (1 Viewer)

I'm running MP 1.0. A few days ago video playback over the network got extremely choppy to the point where nothing wants to play. I've also noticed that it takes forever to open my video folders. I also noticed that the mediaportal app is using 98-99% of my processor power. Is there some setting I might have hit that would have caused this?
