I am having a problem where video sometimes get stuck in a 0.5 seconds loop. Audio continues fine. Video gets stuck forever.

I can stop the video and play it again. Sometimes it will happen again during the movie, sometimes it will play fine till the end.

The loop is not at the same part of the movie. It could be right at the beginning(1 minute), after 1 hour or never. Sometimes the movie plays fine, sometimes the same movie gets stuck.

720p and 1080p movies do not seem to be affected, only SD ones.

Video card: ATI HD3650 PCI-E
Codec/container: x264/mkv
decoder: MPC-HC - using dxva
audio codec/decoder: ac3/ffdshow

Any help?

Have something that looks like the problem you describe. I always record Dora the Explorer for my little daughter. When playing the recording, the video freezes sometimes after about 20 till 30 seconds. Sound continues correctly. Stopping and restarting will solve it most times, but also a short forward on the remote (15 seconds) will let the video progress perfectly. Not really a loop like you describe thought.

What version of catalyst are you using?

I had this problem with 1080i H264 HDTV when using DXVA. Problem was fixed with upgrade to ATI 8.12

    I am using 9.4 I believe. Should I downgrade to 8.12?

I am trying to narrow down the problem. I'm almost certain is because of idx/sub subtitles. I am using the mpc-hc subs integration patch.
