Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks,

To save you a little bit of time, the third thread will most likely solve your problem.

That question gets asked a lot so we kind of get sick of repeating ourselves ;-)

(and no, I'm not sure why the option is there, it doesn't seem to ever help anyone)

Thanks tklon & Marcusb. My audio renderer is already set on "default direct sound device".

I should have been clearer in the description. When I play a recording the sync is fine however, when I recode that recording to Nero digital (mp4). it then plays out of sync.

If you have Post Processing enabled, try the playback with it disabled. I got out of sync issues for some but not all xvid videos, but then I tried turning of the FFDshow postprocessing.

Changing both audio and video codecs to DScaler (with Direct Sound: etc... as audio renderer) solved all my video/audio sync problems.

    Damn it!!!

My HTPC system worked perfectly, until few days ago. Video and audio was smooth and in sync, whatever codecs I used.

    But then...
I decided to give ReClock a shot, I thought maybe it would make live TV even smoother.

It didn't work. well, basically it did work for timeshifted TV, but not for live TV.
So I decieded to uninstall ReClock.

Ever since, TV (mostly live TV) is worse than ever. both audio and video gets "stuck" once in a while. I'm pretty sure it's related to this stupid ReClock installation.

I've also noticed that the "uninstall" feature of ReClock, doesn't really do the Job. The files are deleted, but the DirectShow filters stay registered. Tried to manually search for "reclock" entries in the registry and remove them, but still - nothing helps.

I'm using a Happauge PVR150 with S-Video input from a STB. Woked like a charm for a few months, until this ReClock incident.

I'm pretty sure that re-formatting my HTPC and re-installing it (without ReClock ofcourse!!!) will solve the problem. However, I though maybe someone here had similiar experience, or maybe someone can give me some guidelines.

PS: the "WinTV2000" application that comes with the card, works smoothly. So far I can only see this problem in MediaPortal.

    Any ideas? plllleeeeaaase....
