Virtual CloneDrive support (2 Viewers)

Shortly this will add Virtual CloneDrive (VCD) support for MP. Also there is one enhancement in VirtualDirectory for image handling. Symptom is that after mounting nothing happens, DVD does not start to play. This enhancement will wait max. 5 seconds for system to recognize mounted drive. This change was mandatory for VCD and might help also Daemon users.

Edit: MP 1.0.1 supports VCD. You will need the version with daemon.exe included.

Never used VCD. What would you say are the benefits of using VCD over DT?

Different format support is the biggest thing. And they are claiming that HD or BlueRay images are better with VCD. Also it is a bit faster to mount/unmount. 8 drive support whilst Daemon 4. Also memory footprint is smaller with VCD.

So afterall only thing was to have alternative for Daemon as it might not be the best solution for everyone. I have used both for ages and they both do their job well.

I absoutley need this. On my Vista x64 system, the sptd.sys driver with Daemon Tools conficts with both of the only remote control solutions (IR-Server Suite and EventGhost). The conflict causes a hang during boot. In short, I can't use sptd.sys. This is a life saver. Thanks!

Many thanks for your work on this - I have a couple of very basic (Newbie) questions

Are the installation instructions for the compiled dlls the same as detailed on the mediaslayer thread?

To activate VCD to mount isos, is it simply a matter of pointing to the VCD .exe file within the "Daemon Tools" section of General settings in MP config?
