ATM we do not have a Dev who has worked on the powerscheduler plugin, who has Vista available to them, hopefully this will be sorted in the not to distant future.

Also there is no keyboard\mouse activity detected, which works fine in xp.

bad news guys, Vista do not support any cancelation of suspend/hibernation  only a shutdown can be cancled by a application.

Therefore please be carefull with your suspend buttons on your remotes.

    Hi MoPhat,

thx for the post, but those functions will not help us :(

RegisterPowerSettingNotification will only be fired when the Settings are changed.
SetThreadExecutionState will only avoid that the internal timer is counting to 0 (for automaticly starting suspend mode).

In Vista it is now the case when you have started to suspend by remote or case button you are not able anymore to stop it.

How does MediaCentre get around this, because if i was recording with Vista mce, it prevents standby with a message.

I know Vista can be a pain, just wondering what is calling this message up.

Anything we could do to help on this one.

    Cheers

This may be a dump question, but isn't this valid also for Vista:
"When applications call the SetSystemPowerState function with the fForce parameter set to TRUE, the system generally enters sleep. However, if the next scheduled wake-up time is less than 30 seconds from the current time, SetSystemPowerState leaves the system in the working state and returns FALSE, regardless of the value of the fForce parameter."
In Vista I think the function called is SetSuspendState, but it should behave the same.
    "Remarks
An application may use SetSuspendState to transition the system from the working state to the standby (sleep), or optionally, hibernate (S4) state. This function is similar to the SetSystemPowerState function."
