Vista - What services can be disabled? (1 Viewer)

I am just wondering if anyone has a list of services that can be disabled from the default enabled ones?

For me i am using Vista Ultimate. it would be nice to have a list of those that are not needed, or on the other hand a list of those services that ARE needed for mediaportal to function.

A good guide located here Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Service Configurations by Black Viper is a starting point. It's not MP specific, but it will speed things up quite nicely. I have used the "safe" services column simply because it just took too long to sift through them all.

i will have a look through over the next few days and see how it goes


i also see there is a custom registry file tool.

i can see this coming very handy once i've sorted out what i need (and what i don't), i can then back the settings up so i or any others if interested, can apply them with just a couple of clicks!
