Hi all,

New user, or hoping to be anyway!

I can't get past the Visual C++ installation when running the installer. I chose the One-Click option, but each time when it gets to installing the Visual C++ redist, it fails with a message saying "Failed to install".

It's a pretty standard Windows 7 32-bit on a laptop. Any ideas why it won't install?

Thanks

    Hi noncom

I take it the laptop is connected to the internet during the install process?

    Yes it is internet-connected throughout.

The first of the list of things to be installed (DirectX 9 I think it was, although I'm not at my own computer right now) downloaded and installed correctly.

The next one, Visual C++ downloaded, but then gave the error message at the installation stage. But there was no information as to WHY it had failed to install.

Hope you can help, as I'd really like to give this software a try.
    Thanks

Re: Visual C++ fails to install -SOLVED

    Got it.

Right clicking the Setup icon and choosing "Run As Administrator" solved this and it all installed correctly.

Don't know why this should make a difference, since I only have one user account on my laptop and it has Admin privileges anyway. But it worked.

If this advice was in the setup info anyway, I must have missed it.

    Cheers
