Visualization to play .avi file (1 Viewer)

Hi

Is there any way to get a visualization to play a movie eg .avi file?

I like to put a roaring fire on the plasma while listening to music, and there are some really good 1080P videos of blazing fireplaces.

Currently there are 2 suboptimal solutions

1. Install Microsoft's Yule Visualization for WMP
- Works well, but the fireplace is really bad quality cf to a movie of a real fireplace

2. Use multishortcut
- I start the music playing
- Then I use a hotkey on my remote control that calls multishortcut to play fireplace.avi using VLC with audio output disabled. This looks good, but unfortunately as MP has to be minimised I can't FFWD/RRWD audio tracks using this method

I remember Beatharness doing that. Talked to Lenny about 2 years ago to make a native lugin, but seems he lost interest.
There's somewhere an old Winamp version, which shoud do what you like. Maybe there are othrs.
