I am ashamed to admit that I don't know how to display visualization full screen while playing music. All I get is a small window in a corner with visualization. Could someone please tell me whether this is possible (I would think it is for sure) and how to switch to it and back using an MCE remote..

Also, is there a way to have visualizations while using Last.fm plugin?

Thanks a lot!

I have the same issue, feel dumb about it, too. looked around and can't find the solution. I have a microsoft MCE remote and the only red button it has is the RECORD button. I can get fullscreen visualizations by pressing the DVD MENU button, visualizations start but are VERY flickery. Then if I het the BACK button, they smoothe out. But they seem to run a little slow.

Any thoughts? thanks

I would guess you have a US MCE remote? I say 'guess' as I have an Australian/European version and from memory the main difference is the US versions don't have 4 coloured buttons as a bottom row on the remote. These are for teletext and the red button in them is for visualisation.
Note: We still have a red button for recording at the top of the remote.
Anyway, the easiest fix would be map a button to 'visualisation' in the 'remotes' section in the configuration.exe program.

As far as the slowdown problems go, I could only guess that your PC is a little slow or you need newer graphics drivers or something else is stealing the focus. Maybe pressing the DVD button is causing MP to look at the DVD drive simultaneously as trying to display visualisations? Who knows?
Note: my Intel 2.4 has no trouble displaying visualisations and playing MP3s simultaneously.

    Good luck,

thanks for the info. I do have the US model remote. I figured out that when I press the dvd menu button, it is trying to go to full screen (with the visualization) AND trying to launch the dvd and go to it's menu. It then tries to flop back and forth between those, so when I hit the back button, it takes me back to the previous step which is launching the visualization. I am now not thinking it is a slowness problem, but more a config problem.

thanks for the info. I think I may map the '*' button on the remote to put visualizations in full screen.

considering I built my first HTPC yesterday from scratch, I think I am doing pretty good. got tv, cd ripping, cd playback, dvd playback, FM radio, weather, news feeds, stock feeds, music video feeds, and e-mail all working. doing well so far, but this little thing stumped me.

    thanks again.
