Yes.. I know that this subject already has been discussed a lot.. But i think my problem is a bit different... First of all, of course the support template:

Area: Media Portal Program
MP Version: 0.2.0.0 RC4
Skin: RealMP
Windows Version: XP Pro SP2 Danish
CPU Type: AMD Sempron 1.58GHz
Memory: 256mb
Motherboard Chipset: VIA
Video Card: ATi Radeon 8500
Video Card Driver: Catalyst 6.4
Video Card Resolution: 1024x768
Video Render Type: VMR9
Video Codec Type & Version: ffdshow
Audio Codec Type & Version: ffdshow
TV Card: none
TV Card Type: none
TV Card Driver: none

My problem is, like described in: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?p=84499#84499 from that post and down...

When i watch xvid/divx videos in MPlayer it looks fine, but in Media Portal the colors are wrong, but only sometimes. I have discovered that when I use window-mode the video craps only when the OSD is displayed, when i move the mouse away from bottom OSD the video is okay again. In fullscreen mode video also looks fine when OSD is not there, but it does'nt look fine when OSD hides again.. But if i use ALT+TAB to switch between apps, video suddenly looks okay in fullscreen until i move mouse over OSD again....

I have triede everything, from codecs to config to reinstall...

I noticed that someone else in here used Radeon 8500 with no probs, even though it is not DX9 recomended...

Hope you can help because i've fallen in love with Media Portal... ¨

I had this once with my old Gf4Ti4200. It turned out that it was the combination of ffdshow with that card. They didn't talk YUV very good with each other.
Try forcing the output to RGB for that codec. Or choose another one. Using a seperate XviD codec (and maybe forcing to RGB, not sure anymore) did the trick for me. Here you can get official XviD builds: http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml

Btw, as soon as I got my 6600GT card, all those problems were gone. So it's a codec/gpu combination problem. I guess the older gpu didn't like that special YUV mode very much.

OMG it worked!

Setting ffdshow only to use RGB-modes in output fixed the whole problem...

Thank you very much mPod.

Great that it works.

But CHli is correct, best you can do for MP is getting a decent graphics card, of course. Lowers CPU and improves quality.
