After updating to the latest 2 SVN's , subtitles dont work anymore for me, on ALL my multiseat clients.

It worked before , directvobsub is enabled as post processing filter.
Outside of MP there is no problem at all, it simply works.

The yellow button (MCE remote) doesnt work anymore when there is a SRT present.
However on embedded subtitles(.MKV) the button responds with the language choosen but never shows any subs.

Anyone else has this problem or am I the only one ?

I seem to be having this problem too.

I played around a little bit. I found that if I ticked the "Show Subtitles" box in config, then subtitles would automatically be shown for both .srt files and embedded in .mkv subs. However, I prefer them *NOT* to be shown by default. If I added DirectVobSub as a post-processing filter, then I had the option for subtitles in .mkv files, but not with .srt files. If I didn't have the filter, I never got the option for subs. Changing the settings of Haali didn't seem to make much difference.

It seems there is an extra TAB in the configuration now with the new SVN's where you have to enable it again...

I find it illogical to add directvobsub and then after that you have to enable it on a new extra tab in configuration again ..

Where exactly is this new extra tab in configuration? I'm trying to play subtitles, but I'm having the same problem. I already added DirectVobSub as a post-processing filter. I'm using the new MP 1.0.1 and this is the only problem I have found so far. Thanks for your help

That subtitle tab has been there for a very long time. Enabling subtitles on it causes the subtitles to automatically load every time you play a movie that has subs like bazzz said a few posts up.

If you remove dvobsub from your post processing filter list you'll see that subs will still work with them enabled on movies\subtitles tab.

What stopped working for me with the 1.0 release was just having dvobsub loaded in post processing and not having subtitles enabled in the movies\subtitles tab. When it was working previously subtitles didn't start automatically but you could enable them in the context menu while the movie was playing. Now the option for subtitles in the context menu is only there if you enable them on the movies\subtitles tab which as I said before cause them to be on as default.

My guess would be that this:

2009-03-29 17:56:53.071664 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayerVMR9: Subtitles are disabled but DirectVobSub is in the graph. Removing it accordingly

Didn't happen before but now that it does it renders only enabling dvobsub in post processing pointless since now it will always be removed.

Where does this issue stand atm? Is it being worked on and fixed or is there a workaround that will allow me to view subtitles when I want to and NOT all the time as I must now?

    thanks
