Volume display issues (1 Viewer)

I am having problems with getting Media Portal to display the current volume. When I am listening to music, raising the volume up or down will change the volume, but no volume bar will appear on screen to show what the current volume is at. It is like this with XP and MCE.

The issue with MCE is that the default MCE volume information will appear on screen but Media Portal will only allow the Mute to display, not the volume bar.

So is there any way to get a volume display in Media Portal, preferably in XP SP2.?
