i have just finished to upgrade myportal now i have

ASUS A8N-VM CSM
A64 3200+
GF6600
INTEGRATED SoundMax AD1986A WHQL
1GB DDR 400
SOUNDGRAPH IMON-PAD + VFD
250GB WESTERN DIGITAL
250GB MAXTOR
SKYSTAR2
PINNACLE 300i

i use spdif output and i can't change audio level, if i set mediaportal on "Master volume" not work on all, if i set mediaportal on "Wave" not work only on ac3 spdif passtrought on avi or dvd.

may be is not mediaportal issue ?

    as far as i remember is SPdif as a digital output not volume-related. so you can only adjust the volume @ your external receiver... not 100% sure though

    If you are playing a DVD you can not change the volume, since the packed Dolby Digital stream (with its volume level) is sent directly to the receiver (passthrough) from the DVD player.
    Normal stereo sound that is going through the Windows mixer (such as an mp3 or your live TV etc.) can have its volume level changed before being sent to the receiver from your sound card. Therefore it can be changed.

    If I have misunderstood all this, please enlighten me :)
