I have a strange problem. My main HTPC wakes up everytime I switch my amp on. And this is even more weird cause I have it connected through optical SPDIF. I can understand it wakes on LAN since there is a special functionality for this but through soundcard and SPDIF? Anyone have heard of this maybe?

    Any advice?

how are you turning the amp on? Is it by remote and the remote receiver is picking this up and waking the PC by USB?

    Was thinking the same

Try covering the IR sensor on the pc or unplugging it and turn the a/v receiver on

Either way, both by remote and by pushing the button. Doesn't matter. So no, not this way.

Check if "Allow this device to wake up PC from standby" is enabled in HW manager for your soundcard (and maybe Gfx card as well if you connect hdmi through amp/receiver or use audio from gfx card). If it is on, turn it off and try again.

I'd try disabling "Allow this device to wake up PC from standby" for all the USB devices and see if it fixes it - I had a problem like yours where I discovered that the vibration from the amp when it turned on was enough to move the mouse and wake up the PC....
