I totally agree! I read on the Inet that they are between 240 and 280 Hz - An equalizer can help but is not sufficient.

Is there no possibility in MediaPortal to just knock out a certain frequency range?

I also would pay money for that...

What about ffdshow fir-filter? I never used it before and i am just trying to figure it out.
Anyone some experience with that?

You can use a notch-filter to erase certain frequencies. However, I don't know of a tool that can do that in realtime on a PC. It should be relatively easy to use though. If vuvuzelas are really on a frequency between 240 and 280 Hz we could just filter that area (some fine tuning required) and still keep the rest of the audio signal. A ffdshow plugin would be perfect.

I think fir-filter is supposed to do exactly that. I just don't know how to set it up. I am doing some trial n error right now while watching argentina vs nigeria

Yep, definitely a irritant, I've changed my tv's own audio setting to "voice" which takes some of the edge of it.

And I even have to hear it a few times per day at office, shopping malls, residential area...bah...
