is it not possible to watch a stream using VLC any more ?

i have tried it on 2 different PCs, with various differnet server builds, and when i enter the rtsp address nothing happens in VLC.

i turned on timeshifting on both of the tuners i have and tried to view both stream1 and stream2, but nothing on either of them.

it worked on earlier builds fine, but not any more for me.

ok.. in which case... any ideas why i can't view via VLC ?

VLC does nothing when attempting to connect.
there are no internal firewalls in place, so that isn't the issue.

start vlc, open the messages and debug window
and then try to open the rtsp stream.
The messages/debug window should tell you why things dont work
    FYI.
Whenever i change something I test the tvserver with VLC to be sure it is still working ok.

Well, I moved my FlopppyDTV to another PC and ran tv server, started timeshift on a channel and tried to connect using VLC, The server says that there is a client using stream1. But on VLS there is no pic / sound.

This is the text from message window in VLC:

one thing to check, i have found that despite only having one card in my server sometimes its not always stream1, sometimes reinstalling the device drivers on teh tuner card i have found that the stream is actually 2 or 3 . So go into the configuration screen and see what it says is the timeshifting files , something like livets1.ts or something see if its something else in your case and then change it in vlc , eg, server/stream2 or 3?

    Yepp, I've noticed that too.

One more thing I noticed today is that some MUXs don't give full signalstrength until after a second (according to the signal strength VUs on TV server setup) These channels don't work with VLC. BUT the MPG file that creates when i manual record is all OK.

The channels in MUXs that shows 100%strengt in TVserver VUs works both stream and record..
