Watching pictures (.jpg) in My Videos or watching videos(.avi) in My Pictures (1 Viewer)

Not sure where eaxactly post this questions but...

i want to watch video files (.avi) in My Pictures OR watch pictures file (.jpg) in My videos.

i already added extensions in configuration, i do see those files when i go under individual sections.

But when i try play .jpg in My videos it says IMG...XX can not be played and when i play videos in My pictures i get only blank screen...

Any suggestions to resolve this or just not possible to do this..???

i see someone had plugin created to solve this...will try later today

That thread was started back in 2008 and surprised that its not been default added to media portal software..!!

Confirmed - Extended picture plugin works fine to play videos in pictures folder

However only drawback i noticed as MP no longer creates thumbnails for any videos even in videos folder, Does anyone know of any solution to this?
