Hey,

when watching TV with MP and browsing my movies, MP sometimes just hangs up.

Yesterday I updated to the latest Streamed MP + MovingPictures 1.0.7.

In the log files I tried the Blue3wide skin with the same effect.

Thanks.

It's the same when just playing a movie or video in background. But it needs more time to crash MP than watching TV. :)

Ive found this as well so i always try to stop any tv etc before going into moving pictures, i havent tried it for a while so i just gave it a go

    -watch tv
-hit back arrow on MCE remote
    go into moving pictures, OK
    Browse All movies - OK
browser a category - movies added in last 14 days

Mediaportal GUI is now frozen, incl TV overlay, however the audio from the tv still plays, but MP does not respond to any remote commands, or alt f4 from keyboard

Have to CTRL ALT DEL and kill process

Ok I think that's the proof for a bug... but I think it's no solution to ignore it :)

I'll hope this will be fixed in the next release. Thanks.

I do not want to get your hopes up, but it could possibly be related to a deadlock problem that has been very hard to recreate and solve within the Dispose() logic. The developers are aware of it and one of them is working on a solution. Some bugs are just much harder to find and solve then others, so you will have to be patient.

Of course that is provided that what they end up fixing will also cure your exact issue (what you describe however seems to closely match the symptoms). Otherwise what you can do to help is to try and make sure you can constantly recreate your own issue in short steps, that way you will at least be able to test quickly if the upcomming fix will solve your problems. And if it doesn't, then you will at least be able to provide detailed debug enabled log files for the developers to use.

If they do issue a fix in the next few days, it will probably mean you will have to compile from SVN source to get the fix, or wait longer till the next public release that contains the fix. But I have no idea if the fix ends up being added to MediaPortal, MovingPictures, or perhaps both.
