I've got a HDHomerun tuner, getting QAM off the cable, using MP 1.2.1.0. The signals are usually strong with great picture, except sometimes the non-HD local broadcast signals experience a weak signal. This is intermittent and doesn't really bother me too much. The problem I have is that scheduled recordings are frequently missed on these weak stations. For one station in particular, if I try to tune to it directly from the TV Guide, it will never tune to it...I get the No Signal pop-up. If I tune to the station next to it, and hit the Channel up, it always works, and I get 100% strength and 100% quality when it is tuned in. I've tried a signal booster on the cable, with no success. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the great product and support.

EDIT...
Problem was solved by using the TV Server Configuration, TV Servers card settings...for each card, ATSC was used as the Preferred Network Provider (instead of Generic). Could have also solved the problem by Pausing the card on idle state instead of Stopping the card on idle state, but this would defeat the purpose of the network attached HDHomerun tuner, as the cards would be locked from use by others.

olddude:

I was curious if you ran into any problems getting MP TV Server configured?

I keep getting "no signal" for every channel.

I also have HDHomeRun, cable clearQAM, MP 1.2.2, strong signals across the board.

In HDHomeRun Setup, I have:
* Main Application: MediaPortal
* Tuners Source Type: Digital Cable
* the channels I expected scanned correctly, and I can view them in QuickTV, XBMC via .strm files, etc.

For MP TV Server Configuration, I've tried various combinations of:
* Preferred network provider: ATSC and generic
* Tune QAM instead of ATSC: checked and unchecked
* QAM tuning frequencies: I've tried each one

But everytime I "scan for channels", each channel says either "no signal" or "nothing found". Per what others have suggested, I've turned off Windows Firewall, that didn't help.

Just wondering if you could help me out here with the settings that worked for you. Or if you remember having to do something special in either HDHR or TV-Server settings to get this working.

Thank you!!

Solved my own problem. Apparently, I was not patient enough to see all the results from the scanning as QAM Standard. I saw several "No Signal" results and falsely assumed they were all going to be that way.

Letting QAM Standard scanning finished, produced several hundred channels! Now to figure out how to delete the encrypted ones, since the "uncheck" and "delete" encrypted channels buttons are not working...

Good to hear you fixed your problem. FYI I scan QAM Standard too...never got anything additional from the other selections. I get about 350 encrypted channels...as I recall the channel names all kinda looked the same, and you can use shift-click to select multiple channels to delete. After deleting the encrypted and non-English speaking ones, I have 13 TV channels left.
