I have read and reread the tutorials as well as spent hours searching the forums but am stumped. I have completed every step of setup for web epg and it seems to go well. I ran the web epg config, and the webepg.exe. But when I get to the stell to click import in the xmltv configuration, it says 5 channels are imported but 0 programs and by status it says: tvguide.xml:No programs found; I checked the mapping, that looks fine. the xmltv.dtd and tvguide files also exist in the xmltv folder and the proper folder is identified in the field above. I can't figure out what else I could have done, any thoughts please? thank you so much.

Hi,
maybe a stupid question, but sometimes the errors are simple: Did you click on the "save" button in the mapping?

If yes, maybe you upload your tvguide.xml (zipped).

Here is my tvguide file (if I got it attached properly). I didn't zip it, I hope that's ok, I don't have winzip on this system yet, and the file is under 1k . thanks again

Hi craig,

have a look by yourself at your Tvguide.xml (just with any editor, maybe notepad). You will see that you have only 5 channels, but no program.

So the problem is not in Xmltv, it is in your grabber; check again your WebEPG-configuration; if you want, you can upload your WebEPG.xml (which is the resulting configuration file) and your WegEPG.log (which will tell you what happened).

To make it clear (as it is described in the documentation): When running WebEPG, you should have a file "Tvguide-writing.xml". This will take a few minutes at least with your 5 channels to finish. When finished, this will be copied to Tvguide.xml; you should have a bigger file, after the channel definition you should have the program.

As long as there is no program, Xmltv has no chance to import it!

And again: You should add your system spec to make it easier for us to help you. ;)

I understand. I just can't figure out what is wrong with the grabber by looking at the log and .xml, I'm not a computer wiz I'm afraid. I attached them. Thanks again so much for your help.

ok, if you look to your logfile, you easily can read (even if you are not a computer wiz) that the search at yahoo does not give any result.

As I do not have any idea for US broadcast, I just used the search function (you could have done that also!) and searched for grabber yahoo. What I immediately found is this : US channels with yahoo grabber no more working.

An easy way to test this is: Take a link from the log file (because this link is used by the grabber) and enter it to your browser (for example http://tv.yahoo.com/tvpdb?d=tvs&id=...neup=us_Central&.intl=us&startdate=1224917135 and enter this link in your browser. You will see that this link does not produce any result at all.

So, I tried the alternative in the WebEGP-configuration for the US "www.imdb.com" instead of yahoo. And, at least for the 3 channels I tried I got the information.

So, reconfigure your WebEPG, forget about yahoo, and you have a good chance to get your EPG.

And, for the future: Do not forget about the search function in the forum. Takes some time, but helps a lot. ;)

unfortunately, the other server for US does not have the stations I need, but now that I know it is the site and not my configuration I will be able to sort out another solution I'm sure. i know it's frustrating that I don't know the mechanics of how this stuff works, I did spend hours searching the forums. What for you seems obvious is above my head i'm afraid, thanks so much for your assistance.
