Hello-

I'm trying to set up the built-in EPG feature of Media Portal, and have followed all the documentation. When I run WebEPG.exe in the MediaPortal folder, nothing happens and no tvguide.xml file is created. When I try then to map channels, I get a message saying, "unable to open tvguide.xml from... " Anybody know why WebEPG.exe isn't working? I've tried reinstalling the whole program, but it does the same thing.

    Have you checked the log-files in the Log-directory?

    Perhaps you can post them here together with your webepg.xml file

    The log file shows no errors, and shows lots of imported data. My webepg.xml file reads as follows. I wonder why the tvguide.xml file is not created?

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    - <WebEPG xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <Info maxGrabDays="7" />
    - <ChannelMap>
    <Channel id="mdr.de" displayName="MDR" grabber="DE\www_tvinfo_de.xml" />
    <Channel id="zdf.de" displayName="ZDF" grabber="DE\www_tvinfo_de.xml" />
    <Channel displayName="Schdtze der Welt - E" />
    <Channel displayName="Das Erste" />
    <Channel displayName="9" />
    <Channel displayName="10" />
    <Channel displayName="11" />
    <Channel displayName="Private Diamonds" />
    <Channel displayName="HR FERNSEHEN" />
    <Channel displayName="23" />
    </ChannelMap>
    </WebEPG>

    You got a couple of typos in the xml-file above, on line 2 and 4. I assume they are not in your original file?

    When I'd corrected them I got a nice tvguide.xml, see attachment. Don't you get any tvguide.xml in the xmltv directory?

    I'm having the same problem as the OP, but I cannot see a Log directory, there is no xmltv directory and no tvguide.xml file is produced anywhere.

    WebEPG starts up and closes immediately - i can see it in Task Manager for a fraction of a second, but it doesn't appear to do anything.

    I'm on Vista - could this be a permissions problem?

    Same problem on my system...
    there was no xmltv folder.. created that and now it creates a TVGuide.xml file in that folder, but no tv guide in Mediaportal... do i have to do something with that xml file?
    I have been looking trough the wiki and not found anything about what to do after the file is created...

    Found out by dumb luck that i was supposed to import the xml file manually whan i clicket right mousebutton in mediaportal... but it fails and asks for a file called xmltv.dtd .. been searching my computer for that file to no avail...

    Strange, as it is a part of the MP installation.

    Should be in: X:\Programfiler\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\xmltv

    Try un-installing and installing MP. Settings won't be lost.

    ... or I can send it to you (although I am not certain that this will work if there perhaps is version conflict or similar)

    I take it you are running Vista

    The DTD file you are looking for is in a hidden folder (show hidden files\folders need to be enabled) at c\program data\team-mediaportal\mediaportal\xmltv.

    Just copy it over to the program files xmltv folder and should work.

    Program data is where all the settings are stored.
