What is in your config.ini file.  Are you using the one that came with MPLCDSmartie or have you configured your own.  See the following thread http://nolanparty.com/mediaportal.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5675&start=75

There is a problem if you have a lot of actions setup to query MP.
