Weird bug, fresh install of Media Portal RC4, crashes when loading plugins, i looked at the error.log:

Seeing alot of X10 Remote stuff, i went to Media Portal Configuration and downloaded remote_x10.exe and now it works. but i don't have a X10 Controller, i use USB-UIRT and Logitech Harmony..

Just a guess but seems like a If Exist function should be in place for this, instead of crashing.
