weird vid problem (1 Viewer)

Ok. So I finally got this htpc setup. Everything is working fine and dandy and great.
EXCEPT, I can't watch tv in mediaportal. I get either a black screen with mediaportal getting laggy, or "snow" with choppy audio. Now I know the problem isn't reception because I can manually record and timeshift in the tvserver config; as well as preview the channels in the listing and they aren't choppy -at all -

so my question is, do i have some funk goin on between the server? or do i just have crappy codecs that i need to upgrade?

the hostname is correct in the tvserver general settings under mediaportal config > television > tv client
so i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.

any idea would be hotstuff

this is with atsc ota broadcast in case that changes anything, i read the post for atsc card users, but i didnt see anything relevant there, since my card is both detected as are channels by tv server

im gonna try installing the new beta version and seeing how that goes

-- ill get a log zip file up if that doesn't work for more detailed info on whats up

right-o so the beta tvserver found the card, but 0 channels; so goin back to 1.0.2 and gonna post a log file

yep, workin on gettin one up now; since i was trying the 1.1 beta i didnt wanna post both

-sigh- now the old version (1.0.2) doesnt find any channels either

its 3.38 am; i'm goin to sleep; gonna re-os and wrestle with this tomorrow and put up logfile at that time; mod feel free to clear this till ive got a log file

alrighty then; back to where we were before

can view video in the preview for tv server just fine but in mp when trying to watch live tv i get this

ive got the dvb fix installed; so frankly I'm at a loss ( i installed the crappy software that came with the tuner card and it works just fine; as does the beyondtv trial - so I would conclude that everything I need is on the system, and just not being utilized properly by mediaportal? aka a configurations issue)

out of curiosity; is astc considered "hdtv"... what i'm getting at is during the installation of mediaportal it asks if i want to install the integrated tv solution of the external tvserver for watching hdtv; so maybe i should try that option?

stuck the tuner card into my desktop running vista and it worked; installed vista on the htpc as a trial and works great; gonna go grab another license of that

too annoyed to keep messing around with xp
