Hello

After reading up on the forum for the past few weeks, I have finally registered and recorded my first eveeeeeer post. :D

In the process of building a HTPC for the lounge, however I'm missing one peice of the jigsaw (tv card).

The system is as follows:

Antec Fusion V2 Silver

E4400 Core 2 duo with stock cooler

2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800)

Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD Mobo with HD Output (available ports: PCI, PCI Express)

500 Gb Samsung HD501LJ Spinpoint T

Samsung SH-S203/BEBN 20x DVD±R

Vista using Media Portal

MCE IR Keyboard & IR Remote

The display is for a HDTV with 720i and 1080p ready. I don't have SKY (uk) but can receive DVB-T.

Any suggestions to which TV CARD I should buy, I've been looking at the nebula pci range, though I can't justify spending over £100 for a single tuner! -unless sumone has one 2nd hand :D
I can't get my head  around the tv card business, so any replies would be fully appreciated. :)

Hang around for a bit and see how the new hauppauge TD500 twin tuners pan out, as the original T500 was 2 usb DVB-T tuners set on a PCI card with a VIA usb controller, which had problems with standby\resume.

Now so it appears the TD500 is totally PCI based, so should overcome the standby issues (Ebuyer £55).

The other one that stands out is the pinnacle dual DVB-T card.

Now will either fit in your case.

Worthwhile visiting there respected websites for more info.

    similar spec to yours.

the TD-500 from ebuyer has teething problems, (well i cant get it working properly) and my spec v.similar to yours.

if you go for it, search the forums for new card definitions.

    Good luck

Ok... well I've made the jump to purchasing the T500. Start building the htpc tomorow. I'm already expecting problems with the vfd and volume control on the antec. I hope for the best. :)
