hello,

all I want is to be able to see/record on hdtv channel and to be able to record from an analog source (my cable tv box - foxtel).

first I installed dvico FusionHDTV Plus. MP recognized the card but not the analog input.

then I installed dvico FusionHDTV Dual. MP recognized only one tuner. it didn't recognized the second tuner or the analog input.

then I installed Wintv pvr usb 2 - Hauppauge. the MP didn't recognized it at all.

then I installed Adaptec Videoh! (avc-2210) usb box. the MP responded with "unable to create graph for this device!!"

then I installed Winfast TV2000 XP Expert card. the MP recognized the card but gave me again the "unable to create graph for this device!!" message.

so I decided just to test it with an old wintv-pvr250 card I had. all worked fine except that it is a NTSC card and I need PAL.

all the cards I tried are in the supported cards list of MP.

can someone please help me with that ?
can some one please tell me what am I doing wrong ?

You will probably need an analog card with hardware encoding to watch and record Foxtel (depending upon how much grunt your PC has!).

first I installed dvico FusionHDTV Plus. MP recognized the card but not the analog input.
That's correct - the analog input is not supported as it is software encoding.

then I installed dvico FusionHDTV Dual. MP recognized only one tuner. it didn't recognized the second tuner or the analog input.
Did you istall the BDA drivers for both tuners? As above, the analog input is not supported.

can some one please tell me what am I doing wrong ?

Please post your completed Support Template and your MediaPortal.log file (as an attachment to your post or at pastebin) from your chosen TV card (what is your prefence from all the ones you have tried?)

Wow...you sure have a range of cards.

I can't comment on the cards other than the FusionHDTV Plus - when setting it up, in MP Configuration, TV -> TV Cards, select it, goto Edit then somewhere in that screen there should be a check to enable SVHS and CVBS channels.

To use the analog input, just change to these channels and it *should* work. I don't use the analog input, so I can't tell you exactly.

At the very least, the Dvico cards should work without any issues. I don't have any experience with the others though.

Are you using the latest stable version? I think support for the parts you have issues with was only added in recent SVN. Have you tried with a late model SVN patch? There are instructions for this on the top part of the home page.

If you are already using a recent SVN then the most important things to check are if the Dvico software can use the cards correctly.
Then check in windows hardware manager to see if the cards are all installed correctly. In the case of the DVico, each card shows up as a couple of different parts. MP uses the BDA drivers (BDA is the universal MCE compatible driver).
