what driver do i need for windows mce remote (1 Viewer)

Hi ya just order a windows MCE remote 2005 from the ebay,

i am wondering what driver i need to use the remote i have windows xp home edions server pack 2 if that help, just want to know what driver i need :) thx for the help

p.s just want to say what a wonderfull program this is, been trying it for the last 2 year and has alway been a bit buggy on my comptuer but seem perfect, would say it is better than my xbmc in almost every way, thx for all the work lads

    I think the drivers (eHome) is installed automatically.... (not 100% sure due to it being "home").
    Please update this thread if things don't work

    I can confirm, if service pack2 is installed the remote should work out of the box with no additional driver required. If you are planning on using the IR-Blasters that come with the remote, then you will have to use the MCE Replacement-Plug-in, which is available in two versions (TV2 or TV3-Server).

    ye im planing to use the Infrared Receiver for Media Center (USB) with it and wich drive do i need for that, so it will work with media portal, would you be able to give a links thx for the help onces again ali

    The remote should just plug'n'play.

    Works out of the box with all versions of XP, you just need to enable it in mediaportal config\remotes and tick the "use mce remote" box.

    If you want the Green windows button to start MP, you will need MPTray installed.

    That's the bit that installs driver as "ehome receiver" under device manager, when inserted.

    Remote will not fit in usb slot :)

    Just as a addition, plug into usb at back of pc as these are normally powered in standby\hibernate, allowing you to power pc soft on\off.
