what would happen if i tried to scan channels or flip through channels in MP while Windows Media Center [win7 version] was recording something scheduled on same tuner?

single tuner

would that hurt something?

Just not a good idea , to have both MCE and TVServer enabled for TV at the same time, there will be conflicts and problems, you really do not want.

    :sorry:

Almost certainly. You won't damage hardware doing this, but if MP config and TV server config, there is a section for 'additional 3rd party checks' where you can disable all windows media centre services.

    Best wishes,

okay, i hope so. i was worried the card might have been hurt or some system files would have been made corrupt or something. but i notice no difference. so i guess i'm in the clear.

if i disable windows media center services the way you say, that is only while MP is running right? so once i shut it down i can continue to use MCE?

i juggle between both a lot.
