There is a dialog text box in MP configuration app. - MUSIC \Music Import tab - library folder.

Mine is set to c:

What is the function of this entry? Where should it point to? Is a library different from the music database - which is elsewhere?

I've often wondered. Cant seem to find an explanation for it. Maybe hitherto unobserved functionality will become apparent if I put something other than c: in the box????

I don't personally use it, but mediaportal has the option to rip audio cds onto your hard-drive. the import folder is the folder where mediaportal will store any mp3 audio files it creates from ripping audio cds.

Many thanks. I would never have guessed that usage for the text box - though I might have got a clue from mp3 files turning up in C:\ if I ever ripped any.

Perhaps a better name for this ripping output directory could be found.
