what types of setup do people have for storage of movie ? (1 Viewer)

Now that I have my Media portal up and running smoothly I was wondering about everyones setups things like dedicated server storage for there movie files. how to set it up and what kind of software hard ware was used?
I ask this because the computer case that I am using is quite small and barely holds what I have and also I have more then one computer setup and would like to have a storage of a few 1tb hard drives for all my movie and TV series files which I could have access at anytime.
