Hi all,

just in the process of working out all my components for my first HTPC but can't decide on what the best duel DVB-T card to use with MP is?

Im a UK Freeview viewer and would like it as a duel card as then i Can record the TV while watching etc (this is a definate must as this is how i sold the idea to her - the boss indoors  !)

Anyway i'm looking to see what people have (or had) and how they rate them.

any posts welcome :D

    Hi Michael

You've just asked the million dollar question, what do i choose,
    My prerequisites were:
    Single aerial input,
HDTV (if it ever comes support)
PCI (got it wrong, also need a spare USB2 port)
able to be used by MediaPortal :D

What I found, TV card good, software + remote crap (don't care use MCE remote anyway, much better/easier) The main reason the software is rubbish, it will not do what i want it too (MP does) and the EPG is not worth having.

Hope this gives you a clue

Theres also the Hauppauge Nova-T 500, which is a pci card. About on par with the rest, comes with garbage software but the drivers are absolutely first rate.

Having done a bit of sniffing around there seems to be four main contenders
    Terratec Cinergy 2400i
    Dvico FusionHDTV Dual card
    Hauppauge Nova-T 500 and the
    Pinnacle Dual DVB-T
The Dvico is a little bit more expensive than the others but is there any clear winner in that line up?
Are there any others that I've missed?

I saw this thread and was wondering why the Dvico FusionHDTV requires a usb2.0 connection. it seems silly to me since its a pci card

it has 2 tuners.... but only 1 of them is powered via the PCI slot... so the second one requires to be connected via either internal or external USB
