When a DVD is played, I can't do anything else or MP crashes (1 Viewer)

First, let me apologize if this has been answered somewhere else. I have spent the last hour and a half searching for an answer and haven't found one.

When I go to play a DVD (doesn't matter if it's a real DVD or hard-drive based), I can play the DVD just fine, and I have no navigation issues. But if I try to switch to any other task, or hit the stop button the remote, MP won't let me. I can hit the Back button while a DVD is playing, and it will bring me back to the MP menu screen, and I can interact with the system, but if I try to do anything else (such as start another video or play a song), the screen just freezes. But the program itself hasn't crashed, because I can still hear the interface sounds when I press other buttons on the remote. But even with the screen frozen, if I try to play something else (by listening to the navigation sounds), nothing else will play.

The only way to get out of this is to bring up the task manager and quit MP and go back into it again.

This only happens with DVDs, nothing else. I've tried every combination of DVD codec and other options that I can think of, and still have the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks for having a look, I appreciate it.

Here's what I did to produce these log files: first I deleted the existing logs, then I opened MP, went to Videos, played a folder-based DVD, hit the Stop button on the remote, then hit the back button. Then I opened up task manager and closed MP.
