Today, my friend was watching 24 on the HTPC, when I lost internet on my laptop. I checked his laptop and he also had no internet. Figuring the router simply needed to be reset, I walked over, unplugged the router for 10 seconds and plugged it back in. Then my friend started yelling, and I realized that in doing so I had caused MediaPortal on the HTPC to freeze, go to a black screen, and then throw some sort of error about the TimeShifting not working. Then MediaPortal became VERY sluggish and lethargic. I had to end it, and then restart the TV Service to get the TV working again. The HTPC is directly connected to the router. A loss of a network connection shouldn't cause the TV to stop working, should it? Or is it because I'm using TV Server, MediaPortal is connected to it through the router in a loop? Thanks for any light you can shed on this!
