Summary:

Timeframe for software-based card support

Description:

I'm sure this is in the works - just wanted to know what /when this will
happen. Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer - so i don't know what i can do, save make a nice donation!

One of the things i want to be able to do is to use my DVICO Fusion HD Lite card as both OTA HD and Analog Cable tuner.

The nice thing about TV-Server 0.3 is that it can see the card as both (version 0.2.x.x does not). I just have to find a way to combine the two signals and feed them into the card.

Is it possible to just build a graph for my card(s) or does something more serious need to be done? I have error logs if anyone is interested...

Thanks for all your hard work - its a great prog!!!

    1. There is no timeframe yet for s/w based cards
    2. The DVICO Fusion HD Lite card is a so-called hybrid card. Hybrid cards have 2 tuners but only allow you to use 1 tuner at the same time.
Hybrid tuners are a pain in the ass for tv applications since it looks like you have 2 cards, but you really have 1. The tv server doesnt know about this.
It just thinks that there are 2 cards.
Its a known issue (already mentioned in mantis as well) for which we dont have a solution yet.

    OK -

    Thanks, Frodo.

I have plan B - to test hardware card (ATI 550) and HD Fusion w/ HD signal OTA. I know that works.

Thanks again for the update - all your hard work is appreciated......

Is the HauppaugeHVR-1100 software or hardware card?

    Hi,

Is the HauppaugeHVR-1100 Hybric tv card a software or hardware card (ie will it work in the TVEngine 0.3 beta)?

    Not exactly.

It is DVB card, so in that respect it is a hardware card. Although it the analogue input is all software (just like a regular DVB-T card if you ask me, i think you may pay more for Hauppauges HVR software).

The HVR-1300 however, has a hardware MPEG encoder on the analogue inputs. Looks like its a DVB-T/PVR-150 hybrid.
