I download a few from the XMPlay website, but they are executables that ask where to install the visual files.. since I don't have either Sonique or XMPlay installed, where do I put them so that MP sees them?
They still don't show up in the list. It's only showing WMP visuals. They have svp extensions, perhaps that's not the right file type? I'm running 0.2.2.0 btw.

The problem with MP 1.32 was that the TV Server component was still 32-bit, even when you installed the 64-bit version of the MP client. MP 1.33 will have 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both the MP client and TV Server.
