Hi all

I am building a new media center computer based on MP, but I am having trouble figuring out which DVB-C card to choose.

I have seen several other posts about this, but this request have a little twist to it that I haven't seen answered anywhere else.

I want to use dual-tuners, so I can record one channel and watch another at the same time. That itself is no biggie, but I need both tuners to be able to access the same CAM at the same time, so I can access 2 encrypted channels at once.

Optimally, this would be a half-height dual-tuner PCI-E card with builtin CAM that works with Win 7 64-bit, but I dont think such a card exists.

Alternatively, it can be 2 separate cards where one loops the antenna through to the next and they can share the same CAM.

My main requirements are that they can share the same CAM and that they run on Win 7 64-bit or at least Vista 64-bit (and they work with MP, ofc.).

Anybody got some ideas of what to choose?

You you sure this card will meet my needs? I looked at it earlier and came to the conclusion that:
  1. According to this page (looking at the DVB-S version of this card as the DVB-C one isn't on the list), the card does not support sharing 1 CAM between 2 cards.
  2. There seem to be some hardware problems if used in a 64-bit PCI-slot according to this post.
Am I wrong in my conclusions and will this card do what I need it to?

Thanks in advance.

I'm in exactly the same situation where I'm looking for a new DVB-C card and would love to have one card with dual tuners for one cam module. Though that seems impossible for some reason so any two cards that can be used with a single cam would be fantastic.

So can TerraTec Cinergy C PCI HD CI be used together with one cam module or are there any other cards/solutions to this?

My guess is thats one cam one card. You can check product info on dvbshop for example.

900! I hope that's not the correct price in the end, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
