My MCE2005 Microsoft remote has just died (it's about 5yrs old, so probably about time!). Can anyone recommend a new remote that i can use? The MCE2005 remote is good as it's well laid out and easy to use without looking at it. I don''t want a remote where the button says one thing, but it does something totally different!

Ideas are welcome, but be quick, as there's only so long that i can use CouchPotato on my iPhone for!

Just get a replacement MCE remote on ebay, if you dont need the receiver you can get them pretty cheap.

Or choose a Logitech Harmony, the cheapest one will do the job more comfortable as a Microsoft MCE

You sure it is dead, leave the batteries out for 30 minutes, then try again, there was a capacitor issue that made them seem dead after battery change.

And new ones made no difference, dumb question to ask I know.

Think I would go along with a half decent harmony as well if completely dead, at least they properly emulate a MCE remote, I have not seen a real new MCE remote for sale in the UK for a while now.
