Whilst I'm trying to systematically go through the wiki and try and fill some of the gaps, thought I'd keep a list here of what i've updated/when (to remind me what i've done as much as anything!). Maybe it'll be easier to see what's out date etc. in the future.

Anyone else feel free to add to the thread if adding/changing. Also if any major blanks are in Wiki, then add if you wish; then maybe someone can look into adding.

Main aim: if we users can keep the wiki more up-to-date; then the developers can spend more making MP even better!
    :D

    ===========

I've been doing a general cleanup of TV Cards - moving hybrid ones from DVB-T section to Hybrid section etc. Not really necessary to go into much detail. idioteque's done loads of updates for cards already.

Plugins - generally their owners would prefer to spend time making them better, rather than writing user guides; so I thought I'd take upon myself to try and update some them (I can't code to save my life;) ):

    very nice work! :D

    just one note:

for additional/downloadable plugins, installation/configuration/usage have to be described on the same page.

for mediaportal svn/core plugins, the description of configuration and usage has to be keept separate :)

    Thanks InfinityLoop,

I PM'd pbb about this yesterday, as looking through the current wiki (yesterday), the setup seemed inconsistent (he's been doing a lot of work on the wiki for SVN/Core Plugins) and he wasn't too sure either.

    Your clean-up helps a lot;

FYI for anyone else (correct me if I've got this wrong)

So Downloadable's go under this path:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Extensions-Plugins/[PluginName]

and SVN/Core Plugins have their own usage/setup pages:

    Setup: http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/MediaPortalSetup_Plugins/[PluginName]
    Usage:http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/ [UsingPluginName]

    e.g. http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/UsingMyLastFM-Radio

    exactly.

i have send pbb a mail regarding this cleanup today too :)

will try to get more time to look @ the wiki.
if you have questions just shoot :)

btw. i know that writing a config page for a plugin which can only be enabled or disabled looks weird in the first place.
but as soon as this plugin is getting a config option, we will be happy to have that basic config page allready present.

Since Plugins are a sub-part of the Extension "system", wouldn't it be more structural to have page names like /Extensions/Plugins/PluginName and /Extensions/Skins/SkinName, where /Extensions is the current /MediaPortalExtensions page, and /Extensions/Plugins the current /Extensions-Plugins page?

...and don't forget MediaPortalSetup PluginName for the configuration page of core plugins ... and of course Settings Setup PluginName!

    Well, great job :)
Seems to go in the same way as our plugins post on french site :
    http://www.mp-fr.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=8&t=2338

What could be interesting too, maybe, would be to have a separate page for plugins working in mp 0.2.0.0 and for plugins working with SVN.
This could satisfy users with stable version and users with SVN, maybe.
What do you think about that ?

    Quick question on that...

For the 'designed for version' how should I put things?

I'm trying not to confuse people - I want to differentiate between works with:

    0.2.2.0 only
    0.2.2.0 with SVN
    0.2.2.0 & 0.2.2.0 with SVN

without looking as confusing/convoluted as I have just written ;)

Or shall I just go with the above?
